Ipsy Review (#3) and Meal Plan Week 49

Sharing my THIRD Ipsy box today! I received Hey Honey 'take it off' exfoliating honey peel off mask, Rob Scheppy for 'tini beauty powder eyeshadow in pearl fizz, Cargo Cosmetics lip gloss in Anguilla, Model Co blush in Cosmopolitan, Luxie 504 Large Angele
Well, I am on month THREE of receiving my monthly Ipsy bag and I must say... when I see that pink bubble wrap in the mailbox, I squeal with excitement! If you haven't heard about Ipsy before, it is a mail subscription that sends you a new makeup pouch each month along with 5 products to sample. And, the kicker? It is ONLY $10 a month! It is also fun to see what others get, because not everyone gets the same products... you fill out a questionnaire and they base your products off of your answers. Sweet! If you're interested, you can sign up under me, by clicking HERE and I'll earn some points. Thanks!

So are you ready to hear what I received in my Ipsy bag?

CARGO Cosmetics - Mini Lip Gloss in Anguilla

I really love the color of this lip gloss, it is a really pale pink and will look great on my lips this Spring! I have actually been wanting a lip gloss in this color, so it worked out great! I want to try this lip gloss over a darker pink lipstick, too. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it doesn't seem to stay on long and it doesn't blend easily on my lips... I have to even it out with the applicator several times before it looks flawless.
I would rate it 4/5 stars.

Hey Honey Take It Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask
This was my favorite product in my Ipsy bag this month! I was also surprised when the company replied to my post on Instagram (see above), talk about great customer service! I did watch the video on how to apply this mask, but my daughter was distracting me and I missed the step where you need to apply a thin layer of lotion on your face before applying the peel off mask. I had a little trouble (but, not much) at removing the mask in one piece, but it all came off after I washed my face and my face felt SO clean, soft and fresh! I am hoping to get two more uses out of my little tube that they sent me. It exfoliates with Alpha Hydroxy Acids and moisturizes your face with honey extract. Pure bliss! If I wouldn't have had this in my Ipsy bag, I would have been totally jelly over the others that did! Do any of you ever get jealous when you see what others got in their Ipsy bags? ;)
I would rate it 5/5 stars.

Luxie Beauty Large Angled Face Brush 504

I really love this brush! How can you not like an adorable pink handle and how it shows the color of what you are applying on the tip of the white bristles? I am using this with the blush I received in my bag and it goes on so smooth.
I would rate it 5/5 stars.

ModelCo BLUSH Cheek Powder in Cosmopolitan (a ballerina pink)
Honestly, when I first saw this blush I thought it looked cheap. But, when I applied it I love, love, LOVED the pink color! This is pale pink and will look great this Spring, especially with the pink lip gloss they sent me in this bag, too! I have been wearing this blush over my Bobbi Brown blush that I normally wear, because I love the color so much.
I would rate it 5/5 stars.

Rob Scheppy 'Tini Beauty Eye Shadow in Pearl Fizz
This is a a beige colored eye shadow and it goes on nicely... I felt kind of ho-hum about this eye shadow. The color will go great with the coppery coconut eye shadow I got last month.
I would rate it 3/5 stars.

The bag they sent this month was really vibrant... I don't have a lot of uses for the Ipsy bags, so my daughter gets most of them. However, she colored on the one I got this month... guess I definitely won't be using it now :) I would love to hear what everyone does with all of their Ipsy bags...

I am really enjoying Ipsy and I will continue this subscription for a year. I am kind of thinking I may try a different subscription package each year so a little variety... but, Ipsy is definitely all mine for 2015! I really loved how I received three full size products this month and the variety of them. I saw that some ladies received liquid eye gel liner and I was a little jelly that I didn't get that in my bag! I must say, when I see that pink bubble wrapped package in my mail box, I get so excited to see what is inside! If you are interested in trying out Ipsy, please use my referral link below... I get points for free products if you sign up under me! I would appreciate it!

If you don't subscribe to Ipsy, click HERE for my referral link.  For $10/month it's a fun way to try new products that are delivered right to your mailbox!

What did you get in your Ipsy Glam bag this month?

Now... are you ready for this weeks Meal Plan?

Meal Plan Week 49

Sunday - Order In

We will probably get some 54th Street to go and I'll be sure to get a 32 oz Cherry Limeade!

Monday - Three Ingredient Cinnamon Rolls with bacon, fruit salad, recipe HERE
This is carrying over from last week, because I didn't make it.

Tuesday - Lasagna Soup, recipe HERE and Garlic Bread
I have made this one other time and it is so, so good. I usually cut this recipe in half and it still makes TONS of leftovers. I will probably enjoy it for lunch a couple of days after. :)

Wednesday - Frozen Pizza
Autumn has dance, so it is frozen pizza night!

Thursday -  Nathan's Blue and Gold for Scouts
We will be having a buffet dinner at Nathan's Blue and Gold ceremony for scouts.

Friday - Dinner at Grandma's
Since Grandma is still recovering from her accident, but feeling much better (and she is returning to work next month!)... we have been going over there for dinner after school on Friday's! Nathan has even been helping her make dinner, such a sweet boy!

Saturday - Coach's Stack, recipe HERE
I love Mix and Match Mama's recipes and when I saw her post this one, I knew the kids would love it. It's basically meatloaf (well, it sort of looks like a meatball) on top of mashed potatoes and then on top of garlic bread! YUM!

Thursday Fashion Files Link Up #2 - Blanket Scarf Cardi Outfit + Reveal by Calvin Klein

Welcome to Thursday Fashion Files Week 2!
Welcome to our second week of Thursday Fashion Files with Jill at Doused in Pink and Carrie at Curly Crafty Mom! We are excited to have you here and would love to have you link up one of your latest outfits with us. Last week we had over EIGHTY link ups, thanks to YOU! This is one of my favorite days of the week and I get such inspiration when I sit down with a cup of tea and look through all of the outfits you have linked up. Jill and I give y'all a big THANKS for participating in our new party!

We are always looking for Co-Hosts for Thursday Fashion Files. If you haven't signed up to Co-Host, but are interested, sign up by clicking HERE. If you have already signed up for a Co-Host spot, take note that the party is now starting on Thursday at 12:00 A.M. instead of Wednesday evening.

It seems that blanket scarves were made to be worn as cardis during these frigid months of winter. I thought I would try this look with a red plaid blanket scarf that I purchased from ON earlier this winter, a hunter green blouse, black skirt and my bright red Hunters. I had my husband take these photos of me outside after an all night ICE storm and I was SO warm snuggled up in my warm blanket scarf! This outfit is warm, cozy and stylish... definitely a look that will get me through until we get some warmer Spring temps in March!

What I love about this outfit, is that the blanket scarf has a hint of green in it and it really blends perfectly with the hunter green blouse I am wearing. I tried this outfit with black boots and the red Hunters make a huge difference when it comes to pulling in just enough red to make this outfit really pop. I love how vibrant and warm I look against the (yucky) ice that is all over the ground. I also paired my newish Michael Kors pleated leather bag with this outfit. I am in love with that purse... however, now that Spring is quickly approaching... I am on the look out for a blushing pink bag! Is there anything you are on the look out for the Spring?

To wear a scarf as a cardi, it works best if your blanket scarf is SQUARE... mine, sadly... was not. However, instead of folding it into a triangle, I just bunched it up at the top and put it on and wrapped my belt around it and untucked it a little... thankfully, it worked really well.

I'm also wearing my new renegade cluster bracelet from Stella & Dot that my hubby gifted me for V-Day. :)

What I'm Wearing...
Blanket Scarf - Old Navy
Green Hunter Blouse w/ Gold Wings - Stitch Fix
Black Skirt - Express
Red Hunters - Nordstrom
Black Pleated Leather Bag - Michael Kors
Red Bracelet - Charming Charlie
Renegade Cluster Bracelet - Stella & Dot

Guest Co-Host:
This week I welcome Christina from Sweet Haute as our Guest Co-Host! Christina shares a love for fashion and DIY/crafts, so you'll see a little of both on her blog. She lives by 'La Dolce Vita, 'the sweet life' and and does so by enjoying life with lots of laughter, surprising loved ones, not being afraid to SMILE, being a go-getter and enjoying being a mom. Be sure to check out her blog if you haven't already.

Jill and I will each select a Top Two each week... visit both of our blogs to see if YOU were chosen. This week I chose Shauna from Lipgloss and Lace.

Shauna is wearing pale pink colors with her beautiful coat and hand bag. These soft pink hues and the scarf tied to her hand bag make me think of Spring. I was excited when I read all three of these were purchased at H&M, one of my favorite stores! She is wearing double stud earrings (I just recently got a pair!) and I love how they match her bracelet.

I also wanted to share a little blurb about some cologne that Influenster sent my husband to try...
Reveal is a new cologne out by Calvin Klein and I was sent a tester to give to my husband to try. My husband has been wearing the same cologne since he was a young adult... I was really excited at a chance to smell something different on him. I really enjoy this cologne on him, it isn't too strong yet has an enticing aroma that is a little sweet and aquatic.

Pom Pom Initial Embroidery Hoop using Speed-Sew Fabric Glue (AND a Giveaway!)

If you remember a few weeks back, we painted one wall in my daughters room with rainbow stripes (see post HERE). Since then, I've moved my old childhood desk into her room and I plan to create a gallery wall around it. I want the gallery wall to pick up hues from the colorful stripes in her room that match her bedding. Since I don't want to buy all of the wall art, I decided to get a little crafty... of course! And, what girl doesn't like colorful pom poms? I have been seeing lots of embroidery hoop art lately and I thought I'd make her a pom pom initial on an embroidery hoop!

...and, it seemed like the timing was perfect, because Speed-Sew Fabric Glue contacted me to try out their product! Speed-Sew is some tough glue and I know I won't have to worry about these little pom poms falling off later down the road once we get this hoop displayed on her wall. Speed-Sew is also letting me give away TWO bottles of their glue to ONE lucky reader! This glue is great for crafting and even for gluing on patches for my daughters Daisy scout uniform. I even used it on my son's Vans shoes where the velcro was coming undone and it has stayed together! This is a miracle glue, you have got to try it!

The supplies for this project were really simple... I picked out some fabric and I went with a pink plastic colored hoop instead of spray painting a wooden hoop. Then, I purchased some pom poms in the four colors that match the stripes in my daughters room. You need to squirt the Sew Easy Glue onto a plate and you can use a Q-tip or brush to apply it sparingly to the pom poms.

I had originally wanted to do a script of the letter A, but it just looked too busy. I decided to just freehand an A with the pom poms, before gluing them all down. I really like how simple this looks, almost as if my daughter did it herself... which, now I regret not letting her make it on her own with it going in her room and all.

Since this is a simple craft, I will let the pictures do the talking...

And, here is the striped wall in my daughters room. Won't this piece go lovely with it?

Motivational Monday Link Up Party - 2/23/15

Welcome back to another week of our Motivational Monday Link Up Party! This is one of our first sick free weekends that we have enjoyed in awhile. Friday and Saturday brought in an ice storm and snow, but we still got an opportunity to take the kids to see the Spongebob movie! Is that bad if that is the highlight of your weekend? ;) A relaxing weekend is kind of nice, since we spent last weekend living it up at the Great Wolf Lodge (see photos from our trip HERE).

I plan to take all of our Valentine decorations down early this week and I plan to put up some St. Patrick's Day decor. I thought it would be fun to share some of the crafts and treats I made last year for St. Pat's. Every year I do a St. Patrick's Day breakfast (or snacks) and scavenger hunt with the kids and they love it. I think this will be year 3 or 4 that I will be doing it for them?

I hope you're having a good weekend and be sure to link up some of your latest DIY/crafts.

Great Wolf Lodge Recap and Meal Plan Week 48

So, we were ALL sick last week and the Meal Plan went down the drain... because, stomach bugs do that to ya... We are all well (finally) this week and I finally have a meal plan to share!

But, first I wanted to share some photos from our trip last weekend to the Great Wolf Lodge!

Last weekend, we went on our second trip to the Great Wolf Lodge! Last year we went over the long MLK weekend and this year we went over President's Day weekend. Due to ALL of the sickness that has spread through our family in the last 3 weeks, this was probably not our favorite trip of the two. Brian was getting over his illness, Nathan was fine, Autumn was starting to get sick and had some asthma issues during the trip AND I was healthy. Amazingly, Autumn acted fairly normal... but, knowing how their asthma can go sometimes, I was pretty stressed out the entire weekend while trying to keep her asthma under control. So, boo to that... BUT, it did stay under control and Brian managed with some over the counter meds. Another complication to the trip was that on Saturday evening, the forecast completely changed and we found out that St. Louis was supposed to get EIGHT inches of snow on the day we were supposed to head home. I really thought we were going to get snowed in another day, but St. Louis only got 2 inches and we landed up doing a 2:00 p.m. check out and were able to drive home on clear roads. Whew.

So, what did I learn from all this? Even though our first trip to Great Wolf Lodge went smoothly and it was during the winter... I will probably be a little more cautious planning a winter trip next time. I think I will probably book the trip a couple days ahead (if they aren't fully booked, which they usually aren't during the winter) and then I can gauge if the family is going to be well and if a winter storm is due to blow in. I am one that likes to plan ahead and to be overly cautious. Now, I know that sometimes illness pops up overnight, but we have been falling like dominos over the last 3 weeks over here... SO, if we hadn't of had this trip booked, we wouldn't have went and would have done it over Spring break. OR, we may just plan it over Spring break next year. But, in any case... it is fun to do a little trip during non-summer months! Great Wolf Lodge does let you reschedule a trip one time, too... and we almost did that, but we knew the kids would have been SO disappointed... so, we decided to go. Now, time for some pictures!

The night before our trip, Brian surprised me with my Valentine's gift. A gold bar cart from Target! He also got me some red roses and I always keep the cards he writes when I receive flowers from him and I have most of them on our refrigerator.

Brian also surprised me with my first piece of jewelry from Stella & Dot. I have been wanting this spiky gold bracelet for ages! I have tiny wrists and it fits perfectly!

Doing a little Valentine's gift wrapping while the kids are in school and before their class parties. Every year I get them a little toy and chocolate pops from Chocolate Chocolate. 🍫🍫🍫 I always got Nathan his fav

I also made the kids some small Valentine gifts. I always get them chocolate from Chocolate Chocolate.

We made it to the Great Wolf Lodge!! They gave the kids Valentine wolf ear headbands, so cute!! Happy Valentine's Day!! ❤️❤️❤️

And, we arrived... The Great Wolf Lodge! The kids were so excited and asked me to take a photo of them by this wooden bear bench.

The VERY first thing Autumn wanted to do... before anything else... was to go to the gift shop and get Violet! They have sort of a 'build a bear' type thing in their gift shop and Violet is one of the characters that roams around at the Great Wolf Lodge. We had told her no last time, so of course she has been asking for Violet for a year now. I couldn't say no a second time. Nathan got a red dragon, I think it is the dragon from their Magi Quest game.

The kids got little red Valentine wolf ear headbands, Autumn put Nathan's on Violet.

After we checked in, we didn't have time to swim before dinner like we did last time... we sort of got a late start to the day. We decided to do what we did last time and went to T-Rex for dinner. OH boy, was it crowded due to Valentine's Day. There was a 95 minute wait... but, plenty for the kids to do while we waited. Since we've done T-Rex two years in a row, we may skip it next time and try one of the other restaurants in The Legends.

Since we had such a long wait we let the kids build Dino's... uhhh, yeah... they are SO spoiled!

They also got their picture with a Dino! After that, they had a 'dig' area and the kids played in the sand and dug up bones for over an hour. I think what made it more fun was they made friends with some of the other kids, otherwise I think it would have been a LONG wait.

Brian and I on Valentine's Day... we really need to get one of those selfie sticks!

After we finally got to our table, Nathan asked for a slushy in a bone and he got it! Autumn got one, too.

I got this last year, its a cotton candy martini. Mmmm!

After dinner, it was pretty late... so, we headed back to our room and called it a night. We got the Kids Cabin room, which includes a private bunk bed area with the kids.

Autumn brought a TON of toys from Grandmas house and we read a book to them.

Finally got the over excited kids to bed and I surprised Brian with a Wine and a Chocolate tasting! Perfect cap to a busy evening! 🍫🍫🍫🍷🍷🍷 Happy Valentine's Day! ❤️❤️:he

After the kids were in bed, I surprised Brian with a chocolate tasting, complete with wine! Happy Valentine's Day to us! You can find the free printable and directions by The Dating Divas by clicking HERE.

Spent the morning at Sea Life, the Kansas City aquarium. Kids really enjoyed it!! Now we are waiting for Brian to wake up from his nap 😂 so we can hit the pool!! Also, the forecast changed overnight... They are now calling for a BLIZZARD in St. Louis

The next morning we got up early and decided to do a little site-seeing in Kansas City. We did their Legoland last year and decided to check out the aquarium this year. The Sea Life Aquarium is right next door to the Legoland.

Nathan next to a sleeping shark!

The kids under an aquarium!

I have always wanted a salt water tank. They had the Sea Life Aquarium divided up into two sides, fresh water and salt water.

After the Sea Life Aquarium we walked over to the mall across the street and had lunch at Fritz's. Fritz's is so neat and we ate their last year, they have trains that drop down a little lever with your food! I got more photos of this place last year... but, the burgers are really good. AND, they had cherry limeades on the menu!!!! I got a 32 oz'er! YUM! I got the same burger as I did last year, it had cheese, onions and hash browns on it! SO good!

The kids grabbing their food off the lever.

Autumn and I were being silly at lunch.

Well, we got a long stretch of pool time in before bed time tonight. Autumn was so tired she literally fell asleep in my arms after we had pizza in our room tonight. Poor tired thing!! Hoping we get to leave tomorrow, darn blizzard needs to stay away from

After lunch we went back to the hotel and rested for a good hour and a half, before heading out to swim for about 3 hours in the pool!

Nathan was so excited that we was tall enough to go on ALL of the water slides this year... I think he was a little nervous about the biggest one, though... because, he said he wants to wait until next year to go on it. LOL.

The water park! Oh, I will be so excited when the kids are big enough and I can lounge at a table and read a magazine while they play. It is fun, but I got a little cold near the end! Luckily, Autumn loves to go int the hot tub every now and then... lol. I really love their lazy river ride. After we swam, we got pretzels and drinks and sat by the pool and ate. Swimming always makes me SO hungry!

When we got back to the room, we ordered pizza directly to our room and went to bed.

I was so happy when I woke up to see that Kansas City didn't get much snow... St. Louis got more, so we did a 2:00 p.m. check out.

The kids always love to play Magi Quest at The Great Wolf Lodge and it seems we always get to it on the last day. I thought I had grabbed Nathan's wand from last year, BUT I had grabbed a hollow wand that was to Brian's costume from a 10k. OOPS. The lucky boy got a new wand and topper (and they aren't cheap!).

You wave the wand and you finish certain missions with it. There is an entire book... and, we got through four missions last time and finished the rest of them on this last trip. Although, Brian says there is more... which doesn't surprise me!

Nathan got to finally play against the red dragon and killed him! It took him several tries and we were starting to run out of time, but thankfully he killed the dragon minutes before we had to start packing up our things! Yay!

Headed home... I love this bridge/structure in Kansas City.

On the drive home, Autumn needed a bandaid for her finger and I pulled out this huge first aid kit that I didn't even know I had in my glove box. Well, we realized I also had all kinds of bandaids in it... so, she started a little bandaid craft. LOL. What you'll do to entertain kids on a long drive!

Well, that is it! If you want to read about last years Great Wolf Lodge trip, click HERE and HERE. Autumn is already asking when we are going to go again and I told her... well, we do have a trip to Disney first. LOL. The kids always have so much fun at the Great Wolf Lodge... maybe one of these times we should go during the summer, so we can see their outdoor pool, too! It was such a cold trip this last time, but memories were definitely made! Sorry for the photo overload... I was going to do this as two posts, but decided to just do one post for the entire trip!

Now... are you ready for this weeks Meal Plan?

Meal Plan Week 48

Sunday - Order Pizza

Autumn has a girl scout thing, so we will probably order pizza or get something to go.

Monday - Easy Baked Ravioli with Garlic Bread, recipe HERE
We are getting back in town, so this will be a quick and easy dinner.

Tuesday - Baked Potato Bar
I might even cook the taters in the crock pot to save time, we'll see... we'll have a lot of yummy toppings with them and I may even throw in a couple sweet potatoes! I love easy dinners!

Wednesday - Frozen Pizza
Autumn has dance, so it is frozen pizza night!

Thursday -  Homemade Egg Drop Soup and Grilled Cheese, recipe HERE
I've always wanted to try making homemade egg drop soup and I thought it'd be good with some grilled cheese sandwiches... not sure if that sounds weird?

Friday Three Ingredient Cinnamon Rolls with bacon, fruit salad, recipe HERE
Nathan just LOVES this cinnamon roll recipe (I've posted it on here before) and so I make it pretty often for when we have breakfast for dinner.

Saturday - Eat Out
Brian and I have a gift card leftover from Christmas from my brother and SIL and I think we will be enjoying it tonight!
