Hello Summer! My Summer Bucket List is always my absolute favorite to put together… even more than my fall one! Spring and winter usually get sidelined around here, and I don’t even make lists for them. There’s just something about summer that feels full of possibility. The longer days, warm weather, little adventures, slower moments and extra time outside always make this season feel special. I also feel like if I write these ideas down in a post, I’m much more likely to actually do them. That said, I try not to overfill my list because sometimes the best summer days are the completely unplanned ones. (See my Pinterest Board for all our Bucket Lists HERE!)
As in years past, I’ve created separate Summer Bucket Lists for myself, the teens and one for Brian and me together. It just makes it more fun that way! It encourages us to plan family activities, make time for date nights and even helps motivate me to tackle a couple things I’ve been wanting to get done during the summer months. I never expect to cross every single thing off the list, though… and honestly, that’s perfectly okay.
1. I’d love to try making sourdough bread for the first time. AND, once I get the hang of it, I really want to try making these sourdough chocolate chip cookies.
2. Look through my recipe books and find some new summer recipes to try.
3. Watch Gilmore Girls with Ashley
4. A few running goals for the summer: I’d love to explore a couple new-to-me trails around the area and finally join Dogtown Running Club for a Saturday run at least once… maybe even more! I’m also taking a couple months off from training with my coach, so I’ll have a little more flexibility in my schedule this summer. Honestly, I’d also like to take running a little easier for a bit. I train hard most of the year, and I think my body could really use a little reset this summer.
5. This one is a stretch, but I would kind of like to learn how to play Mahjong. I may start with an app or tutorial first. Does anyone have any advice for me?!
6. My birthday is in August and for once I have no idea what I want to do for it?!! I’d love to plan something fun!
Summer Bucket List with the Teens
1. Family Trip to London and Paris and family photos in Paris.
2. I’d love to visit the Arnold Farmers Market once on a Saturday morning.
1. I’d love to stop by Trader Joe’s and maybe a couple other little shops to put together a delicious summer picnic for us to enjoy outside one evening.
