Welcome back to another week of What Wives Wear! This week I am sharing a monochromatic striped maxi dress that I am styling as just a skirt! I am wearing a delicate lace top with it that has a beautiful bow in the back. I wore this outfit last weekend for an outdoor theater production of Grease. It was perfect and I loved how I felt like I had a brand new outfit, since I normally wear the maxi outfit as a dress.
Here is an old photo of what it looks like as a dress (and I am styling it with a denim jacket). I am in Paris here standing in front of the Triumphal Arch… 🙂 I love flash back photos! My hair is also shorter here and a mess… none of my hair styling tools would plug into the Paris adapters, so this was the best I could do! lol! Plus, we were walking around all day and I think this was one of the days where it rained off and on… not good for naturally curly hair.
Here is a close up of the beautiful bow on the back of this lace top. I always have to ask Brian to tie this for me, I cannot tie a bow for the life of me when it is behind me! I love how the fabric to the bow is a little sheer.
I love the monochromatic stripes in this skirt. I would love trying to pair this as a skirt with a top with more stripes or polka dots.
I decided to wear this simple bauble necklace in navy against the lace top. I think it nicely compliments the monochromatic blue skirt. I did wear a light tan/almost cream tank under the lace shirt, since it is sheer/see through!
I am still really tan from our trip to Destin… I am normally not this tan! For accessories, I wore a white bracelet with round links from Charming Charlie and a golden lace bracelet from F21. I have on my sapphire ring that Brian gave me before he left for a work trip to England a few years ago and my gold MK watch. The nail polish I am wearing is Essie’s Sunday Funday, which is a coral color with a little sparkle.
Another view of the accessories and the back of the outfit.
I wore these white embellished sandals from Rampage. You can’t beat a little bling on your sandal.
Here is a break down of what I am wearing:
