Happy Thursday, friends! The weekend before my birthday, Brian and I spent a night in a town outside St. Louis called Cottleville. We stayed in the penthouse of a new hotel in the area and enjoyed relaxing, dining and strolling around the area for a couple of days. It was just what we needed to close out the summer months.

I didn’t even really know Cottleville existed until I hired a photographer for my blog photos last summer and her studio was in Cottleville. I fell in love with the charm of the small town and thought how cool it would be to spend a night in their new Oak Street Inn & Lounge. We booked the PENTHOUSE, baby and it was larger than I had expected it to be! For just the 2 of us, there were 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (one with a walk in shower), several cute little reading/lounging nooks, a full kitchen and a balcony. We were also on the same floor as their rooftop mini restaurant, so we could order cocktails and take them back to our room. So fun!

The Oak Street Inn & Lounge has everything you need for a romantic getaway! There is the inn, with the penthouse and several other rooms you can book. There are several dining options in the building, including my favorite… The Pink Willow Cafe (more on that later). There is also the rooftop, The Lounge (upscale restaurant, where we had dinner) and the Speakeasy (asian fusion cafe). There is a coffee house across the street (easy to walk to) called Upshot Coffee and we have been there twice and the coffee is amazing.
Here is the view from our balcony. Such a cute little town!
Shop This Outfit:I’ve been to Cottleville twice for photoshoots with this photographer and after my first photoshoot with her, we were able to grab lunch in town. I knew I wanted to come back to Plank Road Pizza, their pizzas are SO good! They used to have a BBQ place next to the pizza place, but they turned it into an ice cream parlor. This is also where I’m sharing my first of three outfits. This Navy Scalloped Romper has so many fun details and it does NOT wrinkle (even after washing!). This navy romper brings the charm with its scalloped hemline, ribbed texture and gold half-zip detail.

Plank Road Pizza, has the best lunch special, you get a delicious salad and a personal pizza. I love that they offer the lunch special on the weekend! I got The Main Street, which is their Margherita pizza. It was just as good as I had remembered!

The owners of Plank Road Pizza own not only the pizza and ice cream shop, but also a cute boutique called Blooming Daisy Market Place. It was a short walk and I enjoyed all the cute decor, gifts, etc. inside the shop.

Here are a couple of photos of some items I saw in the shop that I thought were cute.

After visiting Blooming Daisy, we were hungry enough for some delicious ice cream from Cottleville Cookies & Cream. I had the gooey butter, chocolate chip mint and banana pudding. It was SO good!

After lunch, we went back to our room to relax. We checked out the rooftop bar and brought some cocktails back to the room. We enjoyed relaxing and the room until it was time to get spruced up for dinner! I loved this full length mirror in our room! Now for my second outfit, this gorgeous At This Time Brown Floral Dress. At this time, I don’t think there is a better fall dress! The colors are all so rich and perfect for the season! Pair this floral cutie with trendy little mules or chic heels for a fun date night!

I knew I wanted to wear my Melinda Maria necklaces and earrings for our special weekend. These necklaces/earrings work with so many outfits and I love how they layer so well together. You can check out my Melinda Maria Storefront HERE and save 10% Off with the code CARRIE. I can’t wait to share a couple of new pieces that are arriving soon, a new bracelet and ring! Stay tuned!

For dinner, we just took the elevator down a couple floors and walked right into The Lounge, which has upscale American cuisine. We started with a couple of fun cocktails and their potato fondant (parmesan crisp, smoked cheddar and gouda sauce- SO good!).

For my main dish, I ordered their beef tenderloin (truffle whipped potatoes, roasted local carrots and red wine reduction). We skipped dessert, because we had ice cream earlier in the day.

Our sweet waitress took a photo of us at the end of our dinner.

The next morning we slept in and Brian was kind enough to walk over to Upshot Coffee to get me a coffee! A coffee first thing in the morning is always a good idea! I enjoyed a shower in the walk in shower and I loved that the room had robes for us.

We had a slow morning, but once it was time to check out we headed down to The Pink Willow Cafe (in the same building) and had a late brunch. It was a 2 latte day! I am wearing my adorable watch band that Ashley gifted me for my birthday!

This was my second time at The Pink Willow Cafe. It is SUCH a cute cafe! It is all pink inside! I’m sharing a photo of Brian’s breakfast, he got their blueberry lemon curd French toast. I got an omelette with a salad, so my breakfast wasn’t as pretty! Ha! We also got their biscuit basket and it had butter and fresh preserves in it.

After breakfast, Brian shot a photo of me by these beautiful flowers! This third outfit I wore for the weekend includes the cute Hear Your Call Stone Sweater. With its chunky ribbed collar, breezy open knit design, and silver half-zip detail, it’s giving sporty-chic in the best way. Pair it with denim or trousers for a cool, layered vibe that works from now into fall! For two of the outfits I wore the Walk Your Way Taupe Sneakers, which are the perfect neutral sneaks to complete your causal outfits!

Before heading out of town, we stopped at one more boutique (Brian is such a good sport!). This one was called Oh My Posh and it was super cute inside!

I almost came home with this adorable dill pickle shirt! And, we did find some little gifts for Autumn (stickers and a bookmark!).
We had such a fun time in Cottleville, MO. Brian and I try to get away at least one time a year, even if it is only 30 minutes from our house! I was so glad we decided to do it! Do you do solo trips with your spouse/partner? I’d love to hear in the comments where you went for your last trip!
