Happy Friday Everyone!
August is here and as much as I love the month, because it is my birthday month… I get sad that the teens are starting school and the lazy days of summer have come to an end. I do look forward to more of a structured schedule, though.
One – My Birthday Weekend!

Shop This Outfit:
I had a really fun birthday ‘weekend’! My birthday was on Sunday, so of course we celebrated Saturday AND Sunday! On Sunday we went to church and then we stopped by my favorite coffee place, Teleo! They were celebrating their birthday on the same day as my birthday (!!) with a fun menu and market.

I ordered their Dunkaroo latte and it was delicious! I LOVE Teleo merch and got this really cute embroidered t-shirt. I looked around the market and we landed up buying pumpkin bread from one of them, but nothing else. It was fun to browse, though!

Then we had lunch! Teleo is known for their homemade bagels (they’re SO good!) and today they had bagel dogs! OH!! I wish they had these bagel dogs ALL the time! And another birthday special was this cosmic brownie. It was SOOOO good, soft and gooey. Yum!

Brian surprised me with these beautiful sunflowers from my favorite local flower truck (Rudy’s). They included some macaroons. Yum!

Shop Bag and Inserts Here:
I’ve been needing a new bag for the fall! I was in Coach awhile back with Autumn and I was really impressed with their bags. I had a few Coach bags way back. I received this gorgeous Coach Tabby bag in Warm Brown Suede. It has 3 straps, a shorter shoulder strap, a cross body strap and then the gold chain strap (it can be an actual strap, or you can keep it on the bag for a little something extra). The inner inserts from Amazon are great to give it a little extra structure and for more inner storage/more compartments.

We have been doing a joint birthday lunch, because my brother and I both have birthdays in August. It was a delicious meal and it was nice to catch up with everyone.

Brian baked me a homemade cake with homemade frosting. It is SO good! I love yellow cake with chocolate frosting. He’s made me this a few other times. The recipe is HERE (it’s a good one!).
Two – Birthday Goodies!

I really love TreatBox (they’re located in the UK) right now and I decided to gift myself their 7 Day Birthday Advent Calendar. I gifted Autumn one for her birthday last November and I loved hers so much, I thought it’d be fun for my birthday. It did not disappoint!

I opened the mug on Day 1 and on Day 7 I got this really cute Self-Care for Every Day book (full colored pages inside!). I plan to read one page of the self-care book each day! All the gifts were really nice. I’m signed up for their Christmas Advent Calendar, so I’m excited for that to come in the winter!

The Sephora free birthday gift is always a fave of mine. They had so many good options this time and I had a hard time deciding. I settled on this Rare Beauty tinted lip oil and liquid blush and I’ve been very pleased with them!

My sweet girl went shopping for me for my birthday and she even got some gifts for the kitties! She did SO well! Wow! I was surprised by what she all found for me.

Lauren from Mom Home Guide sent me this really nice hydration vest for my runs! Thank you SO much, Lauren!

And my sweet friend Ashley from Make Life Marvelous sent me several cute items! First, there is this wooden plaque with my blog name! I just LOVE it!! She also sent me a really cute clear glass with white bows, a Pathology Rose face mask (2 pack!) AND this really cute beaded Apple Watch band (see it in my Cottleville post HERE). Thank you, Ashley!
Three – Back to School for Autumn!

Autumn started her first day of JUNIOR year! (Nathan has another week still before he starts his 2nd year of college.) She is doing field hockey this fall instead of dance. She had a fun first day with a pool party at her field hockey coach’s house (complete with a slide!) and a farewell party to a sweet friend moving away in the evening.

Autumn finished out her summer with a cute little gift bag from her part-time job this summer (camp counselor) and we scouted out a bakery in St. Louis with the viral TikTok fruit. It has cake inside it.

While Autumn had her first day of school, I took Nathan over to the St. Louis Art Museum. I had promised to take him back in May and then that awful tornado hit Forest Park, so we didn’t get there as soon as we would have liked. We took some quick photos outside of the SLAM, but we did them quick… because it is still SO, SO HOT here!

We browsed the art museum and then had lunch inside it at Panorama. It is always a treat to dine there! It has a great view and the food is like art itself. I had a watermelon/strawberry appetizer and oyster mushroom crepe. Delicious!

The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
This book took me the entire summer to read! The mystery part of the book was excellent, it really had a lot of twists and turns to it. It is a longer book (500ish pages) and I felt like I just didn’t LOVE it. I did really get into the book at the last 20% of it, that was where it really started to ramp up. This book is about a family that owns a campground and within a decade of each other, two of their kids go missing. The family that owns the camp also employs almost all of the people in the town. It is an interesting story, that goes into detail of the family (and ALL their ‘STUFF’), the campers, workers and detectives. There is a lot to it and it was beautifully written, but just a little too long and I just couldn’t get into the meh characters.
Five – Latest Finds

Here is my August Monthly Treatbox, it was SO cute!!! Blues and whites are my fave as are their biscuit cookies! I wore the blue nail polish for my birthday.

I received my latest Fuel Goods Box (sign up and earn me a free gift!) for the month of August. This subscription box for runners arrives every other month. It has a lot of great products for me to try that are new to me!! This box has a lot of snacks, bars, protein shakes, gels, etc. in it. I loved the dill pickle popsicle stick in this box, what a hoot and perfect after these brutal hot summer runs!

Pixi has been very generous lately with sending me over super cute packages with great skincare and makeup items in them! Check out the Blush, Bronze and Superglow HERE. And the other box they sent me looks like luggage, with a ticket and even a real suitcase tag! SO fun, Pixi! You can check out those items HERE.
