I decided to take the Canon Rebel along with us to Disney and I am so glad I did, because I got so many awesome photos of us as a family and of our sights while in Disney. I am going to share our trip with you in 5 blog posts, I am hoping to share 3 this week (one of them will be Trendy Tot Tuesday with Autumn’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Nathan’s Pirates League photos) and the final 2 blog posts will be next week. That way it isn’t ALL Disney this week and it gives me more time to get all of these photos off my camera and edited. I also plan to do a Disney Tips post in a few weeks, because I feel we learned A LOT on this trip and I really want to write it down to share with all of my Disney lovin’ readers.
Our first day on the trip we flew in on a crazy early flight (our flight took off at 6:20 a.m.!) and we landed in Orlando at 9:20 a.m. Here are the kids right after we got off of the plane, I ordered them special t-shirts that said ‘We’re Going to Disney World’ and they enjoyed pushing around their luggage we got for them at the beginning of the trip.
We took the Disney bus from the airport to Animal Kingdom Lodge, where we were staying for our trip. On the way there, I signed Autumn’s autograph book and drew an adorable Mickey Mouse on it, Nathan told me it looked like a Mickey Mouse ‘rat’! Ha! Whatever, I have awesome drawing skills! 😉
We checked in early at Animal Kingdom Lodge (kudos to them for having our room early before 3:00 p.m.!) and took a little rest and then spent the rest of the day in Epcot. It was a beautiful first day of the trip! The kids were so excited to come in the room and see the package from Mickey with their Mickey mail and special snacks and drinks.
Here are the kids with their first day of Mickey Mail (I had the wrapped packages numbered each day) by the Mickey Mouse towel that the maid put on the bed. They look pretty excited, don’t they?!
Views from the balcony of our room, the animals were that close! I loved that we upgraded our room to the safari view, it was so magical having such wonderful views of all of the animals.
We also decided to get the bunk beds for the kids instead of two queen beds in the room. We actually had a king bed for ourselves, it was awesome.
On our way out of the hotel, I let the kids go outside and view the animals through these binoculars.
While waiting for the bus to take us to Epcot, Nathan snapped this photo of me and Brian. And, Autumn is photo bombing us!
And, just like magic, we arrived at Epcot! Here is a photo of me and my sweet boy.
Oh, and why not… one with Autumn sleeping.
Of course, Nathan wanted to go on the Space Ship Earth ride inside the dome, so that is what we did… the kids first ride! They both loved it, Nathan loved seeing him and Brian up on the screen at the end of the ride.
Then, we took the kids to get their First Visit to Disney pins!
Then, the kids ran into their first characters- Chip and Dale! Autumn really got hooked on seeing these characters and getting their autographs by the end of the trip! So precious!
A trip to Disney isn’t complete without some special Mickey ice cream. Our first snack purchase with the Disney dining plan! Yum!
Then we visited Club Cool, where you try different soda flavors of the world in tiny little cups… the best part? All of the soda is free!
Here are the flavors we tried:
- Krest Ginger Ale from Mozambique
- Fanta Kolita from Costa Rica
- Beverly from Italy
- Vegeta Beta from Japan
- Kinley Lemon from Israel
- Lift Apple from Mexico
- Smart Watermelon from China
- Mezzo Mix from Germany
Nathan had to have his picture taken with this shark.
Nathan’s absolute favorite ride of the park… I can’t believe he went on this. Mission Space. Yes, he did the Green and the Orange level.
I took this photo while Autumn and I waited for Nathan and Brian to finish Mission Space. Love how peaceful this picture is.
Then it was time to see the Fab Five (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and well Donald Duck and Goofy weren’t there… so Fab Three?). Autumn was too afraid to get in the photo with most of them by herself, so I got in the photo with her. She was not afraid of the characters (or princesses) by the end of the trip, thankfully… well, an exception to when we saw The Beast. Here we are with Mickey Mouse.
Minnie Mouse. Brian just hadda get in on this one, ha!
Pluto. Autumn loves puppies, so it didn’t surprise me that she gave Pluto a big hug!
Before heading to the World Showcase, Autumn saw her first princess. Snow White. You can see how nervous Autumn is in these photos, Snow White spent a lot of time with Autumn and talked to her for several minutes. Autumn really loves Snow White now, she says she is her favorite princess along with the pink princess! Autumn sees Snow White again later in Cinderella’s castle in the Magic Kingdom on another day.
I took this photo while in the World Showcase. So pretty!
Autumn and her first stuffed animal of the trip, Minnie Mouse!
Nathan in Paris!
Outside the German Pavilion is an electric train set and I wanted Nathan to see it… it was beautiful and larger than I thought it would be.
Lastly, I want to finish this post up with an IG photo, yes… poor little tired Autumn took a second nap later in the day at Epcot. Awww! Epcot was a really enjoyable day, the weather was gorgeous in that it was in the mid to upper seventies and we only had a few rain showers that we had to wait out, but they were brief.
