Get Organized for the Back to School Season
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MyGo2Pen #CollectiveBias
I don’t know about you, but I am a huge overachiever. I love being organized; creating lists for every day tasks, my goals, for everything! How do I get this done, you ask? Well, I do this by using my go-to pen, Pilot G2, of course; America’s #1 selling pen brand.
The G2 product line includes four point sizes, 20 vibrant color options; it is the only gel ink pen that offers this level of customization – because, after all, pens aren’t one size fits all.
These assortments are only available at Walmart so make sure you get the pen that works just as hard as you do #MyGo2Pen
Only Walmart carries the G2 Premium Gel Roller 10-pack with bonus pen. They also have 4-packs available so make sure you get the pen that works just as hard as you do.
The best part? You can save $.75 on any 4-pack (or larger) of G2 Pens if you shop now in the Back to School Season.
Boho Chalkboard Hoop Wreath {12 Months of Wreaths}
Welcome back to 12 Months of Wreaths!
Hi everyone! Welcome back to our eighth month of 12 Months of Wreaths! Today I’m sharing a boho chalkboard hoop wreath tutorial.

How to Make a Boho Chalkboard Hoop Wreath
You’ll need:
- Embroidery Hoop (12″)
- Chalkboard Paint
- White Napkin (OR a thicker fabric, such as a drop cloth)
- White Chalk
- Rolls of ribbon for the boho/wind catcher at the bottom of the wreath
- Drop Cloth Ribbon (Hobby Lobby carries this!) for the bow at the top
- Eucalyptus (or other greenery to tuck into the top bow)
Lay your fabric napkin on the floor and with a marker, draw a square around your embroidery hoop with a little space around it. Cut it out.
You’ll want to follow the directions on the bottle of your chalkboard paint. But, usually you’ll need to paint horizontally, let it dry and then paint vertically and let it dry 24 hours.
Prime the surface with chalk and then remove chalk with a damp cloth.
Now you can place the chalkboard painted napkin inside your embroidery hoop! Trim off the excess napkin around the hoop with fabric scissors.
Take your ribbon and figure out the placement and length of each of them. I repeated some of the ribbon twice.
I freehanded this ribbon, but I made it from a drop cloth ribbon. I tucked some eucalyptus into it to add a little greenery.
Tuck the ribbon strands inside the embroidery hoop. It should be tight enough that you don’t need to hot glue it down, but you can if you want.
Don’t forget to write a phrase on the chalkboard! I wrote ‘hello’.
This is a darling fall wreath and my favorite yet that I’ve done from this series. Next month we’ll start to get into fall wreaths! I can’t wait!
Thanks again for joining us! We will be sharing a new wreath once a month in 2017!
Are you interested in sharing a wreath with us one (or more) months? We are accepting guest hosts! Email carrie (at) curlycraftymom (dot) com if you are interested!

Back to School Ice Cream Cupcake Cones
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #SoHoppinGood #BlueBunny #CollectiveBias
It is definitely back to school season right now! My kids went back to school last week and I wanted to surprise them with a special treat after a long day at school. These Back to School Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes made with Blue Bunny® PB ‘N Cone™ were a real treat for their tastebuds and are easy to prepare.
When I think of back to school, I think of all of the pencils I need to buy for both of my kids. I decided to make a cute ice cream cone printable that you can add to a regular sugar cone to make it look like a ‘pencil’.
How to Make Your Own Back to School Ice Cream Cupcake Cones
These Back to School Ice Cream Cupcake Cones are so easy to make! Prepare the ingredients from a cake mix box and bake them into the cones the day or even morning before and then add a scoop of ice cream, a little whipped cream and a chocolate kiss. You’ll have yourself a ‘pencil ice cream cone’!
Blue Bunny® products are available at Walmart stores nationwide. I picked up the PB ‘N Cones™ flavor. There are a lot of new flavors that give classic flavors a fun, unique twist and are perfect treats for the entire family!
Once I got home, I prepared the cake mix according to the directions on the box. I needed the cake mix, oil, eggs and water.
Mix it all up.
Place the sugar cones in a muffin pan. If they tip over, you can place some foil in at the bottom to keep them upright. Fill the sugar cones halfway with the cake mix.
Bake for 21-23 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
I baked the cupcakes the day before, so they’d have plenty of time to cool off. Once they’ve cooled, print out THIS pencil cupcake printable and wrap around the cone. You will use a small piece of tape to secure it in the back.
Blue Bunny® recently came out with their new 2017 lineup of ice cream flavors and treats. My favorite flavor is PB ‘N Cones™, which is what I used for the Back to School Ice Cream Cupcake Cones. It has swirls of creamy peanut butter and crunchy chocolate dipped cone pieces throughout delicious vanilla ice cream. Some of their other new flavors include: Rockin’ Rocky Road™, Monster Cookie Mash, Toffee Brownie Twist™ and Mint Cookie Crunch. Additionally, Cherrific Cheesecake, which had been a seasonal flavor, is now available year-round.
This year Blue Bunny® also introduced a totally new treat, Bunny Snacks™. Bunny Snacks™, are the perfect bite-size treat available in four must-have flavors: Salted Caramel Pretzel, Chocolate Vanilla Twist, Chocolate Chip Cookie and Cookies ‘N Cream. I have tried the Salted Caramel Pretzel and they are delicious! You can also find Blue Bunny® cakes at Walmart!
You can find more Back to School ideas for Blue Bunny® ice cream and Bunny Snacks™ HERE.
You can also visit Blue Bunny® on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and/or Pinterest.

The Creative Corner Link Up Party & Weekly Recap – 08/20/17
Welcome back to our DIY/Craft Link Up Party! Thank you for stopping by every week!
Today’s Feature is Decorating an Accent Wall with Vinyl Wallpaper by Sandy a la Mode.
Weekly Recap:
Brian took me out to dinner for my birthday at Olive + Oak, which was delicious! He also had some gorgeous flowers delivered for me. I loved all of the fall colors mixed in with the sunflowers.
We planned one last playdate with the kids before they went back to school, we went to Fairmount Park. Then, on Wednesday the kids had their first day of school (sniff, sniff). Nathan is in 6th grade (first year of middle school!) and Autumn is in 3rd grade this year. They are getting SO big. I know I say this every year, but man… can time slow down a bit?
